Auditions and Placement Tests
All students wishing to enroll as music majors, ensemble classes, or in private instrument instruction are required to give a short audition on their respective instrument. Students who wish to take music technology classes must gain the consent of the instructor through a brief interview. Students wishing to take music theory class above Music 101: Introduction to Music Theory must take a placement exam. These auditions/interviews/exams provide the music faculty with the necessary information for placement of the student within the program.

Students who plan to major in areas other than music, but who wish to participate in the music ensembles, private instruction, music theory, or music technology classes, may give a brief audition/interview/exam as well.

Students who plan to audition, interview, or take placement exams should contact the following instructors prior to registering for the class:
