Daniel Bruce Music Instructor Harold Washington College

Daniel moved to Chicago in late 2007, after finishing his master’s degree in jazz studies at the renowned University of North Texas. He was quickly performing at a number of the city’s finest jazz venues including Pop’s for Champagne, Katerina’s, Pete Miller’s, and Harris Theatre in Millennium Park. He has performed with a number of Chicago’s outstanding jazz instrumentalists and vocalists including Nick Schneider, Scott Burns, Rose Colella, Doug Stone, and Matt Ulery.

Daniel has performed and recorded with a number of the top musicians in the Midwest and Texas including Lynn Seaton, Dan Wall and the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Stefan Karlsson, Fred Hamilton, Marvin Stamm, Dominic Spera, Luke Gillespie, Bobby Selvaggio, Jack Schantz, The UNT 2 O’Clock Lab Band, and the UNT L-5 Guitar Ensemble. He has been a featured artist in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine, and remains a regular contributor.

Daniel released A Single Thread, his first album as a leader, in January of 2007.
